Nanoq
Nanoq is an investment company based in Iceland, founded by Thor Björnsson in 2023. We invest in land and property.
Our work spans both undeveloped land and residential assets. In each case the aim is the same: to acquire well and improve what we own. Some positions are realised within a few years; others we expect to keep.
We invest our own capital. That means no outside mandates, no investment committee, and no fixed exit horizon. We can decide quickly when something needs deciding, and we can wait when waiting is the better option. It also keeps us close to what we are focused on.
We work primarily in Iceland. It is a small market, and the difference between a good acquisition and a poor one usually comes down to local knowledge that does not transfer from anywhere else.
We do not publish details of holdings under review. Enquiries from landowners, brokers and prospective buyers are welcome directly.
